Auditor-general shows that Victoria’s finances are a complete mess

Imagine if there was a truly independent expert panel that could cut through all the rhetoric surrounding the debate about the quality of the Victorian Labor government and deliver an analysis that both rusty Labor supporters and critics of the Daniel Andrews and Jacinta Allan governments could accept as fair and reasonable.
Luckily, we have one: the Victorian Auditor General’s Office (VAGO), headed by Andrew Greaves, whom the Victorian Labor government appointed to the post and then reappointed in 2023.
