T.N. increases dearness allowance for government employees, teachers to 58%

The Tamil Nadu government on Thursday, November 13, 2025, announced an increase in dearness allowance (DA) for State government employees and teachers in line with the rate announced by the Union government.
According to the official statement, Prime Minister MK Stalin has ordered the DA to be increased from the current 55% to 58% with effect from July 1, 2025. Around 16 lakh government personnel, teachers, retirees and family pensioners across the State will benefit from this revision. The statement also stated that the hike will lead to an additional annual expenditure of ₹ 1,829 crore for the State government.
