Delhi car blast: India won’t spare those responsible for Red Fort explosion, says PM Modi

New Delhi: India will ensure those responsible for the Red Fort explosion are brought to justice, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, a day after a suspected suicide bomber triggered a high-intensity car explosion in the capital, killing at least 12 people and injuring more than 20 others. The case was handed over to the National Investigation Agency, the central counterterrorism law enforcement agency.

The Prime Minister, who is on an official visit to Bhutan, said on Tuesday: “I was in contact with all the agencies investigating this incident throughout last night. Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy. The conspirators behind this will not be spared. All those responsible will be brought to justice.” Expressing his sadness about the incident, the Prime Minister said, “I came here with sadness.”

“The terrible incident that took place in Delhi last night has confused everyone. I understand the pain of the affected families. The entire nation stands with them,” the Prime Minister said.

Rajnath said rapid investigation is ongoing and findings will be made public soon

Echoing the prime minister’s remarks, defense minister Rajnath Singh vowed to bring the perpetrators of the blast to justice and said investigation agencies were conducting a swift and thorough investigation and the findings would be made public soon. “I want to give the nation the absolute assurance that those responsible for this tragedy will be brought to justice and will not be spared under any circumstances,” he said.

Amit Shah ordered arrest of criminals

Home Minister Amit Shah, who visited the blast site near Red Fort metro station and met with those injured in the incident, held several review meetings with senior officials and ordered the arrest of the culprits. “I have instructed them to find every single culprit behind this incident. Anyone involved in this act will face the full wrath of our agencies,” he said in a post on X. The agencies are investigating the role of a terrorist network linked to Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed, which includes doctors and other professionals from Kashmir, in orchestrating the blast.
