MGL expects restoration of gas supply by November 18

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) supply disruption on Monday, November 17, 2025, affected vehicles across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) following damage to GAIL’s main gas pipeline. Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) expects gas supply to be restored by November 18.

MGL said the damage to GAIL’s main gas supply pipeline occurred at RCF facilities in Trombay and also affected gas supply at MGL’s City Gate Station (CGS) in Wadala since Sunday, November 16, 2025.

According to MGL, out of the total 389 CNG stations, 225 CNG stations are working and the rest are experiencing problems.

“MGL has been providing uninterrupted supply primarily to domestic (Piped Natural Gas) consumers. However, several CNG stations in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai are not operational due to halt in gas supply at CGS Wadala and hence in MGL pipeline network,” MGL added.

In the statement, MGL emphasized that gas supply in the network will return to normal once the damage is repaired and supply to CGS Wadala is restored. “Remediation work is ongoing and gas supply is expected to be restored by November 18,” MGL said.
