Chrissy Teigen talks about ‘polarizing’ friendship with Meghan Markle and why their kids don’t have playdates

Reflecting on their friendship, the model and cookbook author, 39, said she ‘really admired’ the Duchess of Sussex, 44, and could not understand the level of scrutiny she was subjected to.
‘It’s crazy to me how polarizing it is to so many different people,’ the mother-of-four said.
‘He is a very kind and good person who truly wants the best for all his friends, the best for the people around him, the best for his own relationship and his children.’
According to Teigen, none of Meghan’s so-called ‘polarizing’ moments were calculated for appearances or attention.
‘He just lives simply,’ Teigen explained. ‘People come up with all these different things about what he might be about or what he wants, but it’s not that complicated.’

‘People will always read what they want to read and will be hyper-focused on what they want to believe,’ he added.
‘People will come up with their own stories,’ he continued. ‘I think this is great [Meghan] just like, “Listen, say whatever you want. I’m happy, I’m healthy, and I feel good.”
When asked if her children Luna, 9, Miles, 7, and 2-year-old twins Esti and Wren had a play date with Meghan and Prince Harry’s children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, Teigen admitted that it had not happened yet.
“I’m not leaving the house,” Teigen joked. I’m not kidding. I’m not going anywhere. I try to do every photo shoot, everything, at our home. So no. But if the time comes, definitely.”
Teigen’s comments came shortly after the Duchess of Sussex joined the second season of her show With Love, Meghan.
In their episode, the duo talked about how they met as Deal or No Deal briefcase models nearly two decades ago.
At the beginning of the season two episode, which aired on Netflix on Tuesday, Meghan described how their paths crossed in her ‘past life’.
‘I remember when I auditioned [in Hollywood]. I would be very nervous. I always had spots on my chest, the former actress recalled.

The Duchess, on the other hand, overlapped with Teigen, as she appeared on the show as a briefcase model in 2006 and 2007, appearing in 34 episodes over those two years.
‘I was thinking how many months ago our paths crossed. “This was a past life — it’s the good old Deal or No Deal,” Meghan told Teigen when they reunited on camera.
Teigen chimed in: ‘I feel like there are so many chapters to our lives, and this chapter was really important, really funny. I remember being basically the backup girl; spare girl!’

“I remember having to stand in line to get our lashes on, one after the other,” Meghan recalled.
‘I remember coming off stage one day, they were held open like a ziplock bag and we all took out our eyelashes and put them in there – ‘Are these… for tomorrow?’ I said. “Whenever,” Teigen added.
Meghan then explained how much their lives have changed in the last two decades of appearing on the game show together.
“I was so happy to have health insurance,” Meghan said. ‘I left that show and about a year later you became famous. “Oh my God, on the cover of Sports Illustrated. How far we’ve come. How’s that for memory lane?” I thought.
