A 40-year-old man was shot and killed after police say he emerged from a Manchester residence with a firearm following a vehicle chase.
“After repeated attempts to surrender, the subject exited the residence with a firearm, at which time an officer-involved shooting occurred,” the Ohio State Highway Patrol said in a press release. he said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.

What happened to Christopher Lindner?
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers assisted the Adams County Sheriff’s Office after someone called 911 around 3 p.m. Friday that they feared for their safety.
A vehicle chase ensued in Peebles and reached speeds of over 100 mph, according to Enquirer media partner Fox19. The subject of the chase a short time later entered a home in the 4100 block of Brush Creek Road, according to OSP.
“After repeated attempts to surrender, the individual left the home with a firearm, at which time an officer-involved shooting occurred,” OSP stated in the news release.
Troopers and West Union Police Department officers were at the home, according to OSP.
The Highway Patrol did not say how many times the officers fired their weapons. It’s unclear whether West Union police officers or state troopers pulled the trigger.
OSP did not say who called 911. The Enquirer requested police records related to the shooting.
Christopher Lindner was previously indicted
Christopher Lindner was charged in December 2019 after he was “photographed pointing a gun” at his wife, Tabitha Lindner, according to Hamilton County court records.
He pleaded not guilty to aggravated menacing. About six months later, the case was dismissed.
