Church of England priest Christopher Brain led cult and sexually abused a ‘staggering number of women’, jury told

A priest once greeted for his “groundbreaking” services, became the leader of a cult in the Church of England, and a court sexually abused the number of “amazing” women.
In the 80s and 90s, Christopher Brain, who led the Nine Progressive Nine Program Service (NOS) in Sheffield, was surrounded by women wearing underwear or revealing clothes as part of the “Homebase team”.
The court sometimes heard that women, called “Lycra Lovelies” or “Lycra nuns ,, were on a route to help the brain to sleep, and this was said by a bishop in 1995.
When Mr. Brain was confronted with allegations that he had exploited 40 women at that time, he said, ım I thought it was more .. In November that year, he resigned from sacred orders.
Bay Brain, who appeared on the porch on Tuesday, is accused of rape and 36 points of immoral attacks on 13 women between 1981 and 1995.
Tim Clark KC, who filed the prosecutor’s lawsuit, said that the Church of England was initially seen NOS as a success story and that Mr. Brain was rapidly monitored for coordination.
“In fact, NOS has become a closed and controlled group in which the defendant first dominated and exploited his duty as the leader, and then as a priest who was assigned to sexually assaulted a surprising number of women from his congregation,” he said.

Mr. Clark said that NOS was a cult where NOS was isolated from their friends and families of veterinarians and organized members to the “disciplinary” groups.
“NOS members became completely dependent on NOS and desperate for the attention and praise of the accused,” he added. “His time, financing, and ultimately this organization and leader were encouraged to give up his sense of self.”
Mr. Brain first joined the church of St Thomas in Sheffield through the Christian rock band. 21:00 NOS Multimedia Church services were defined as “visually striking ve and contained live music for a younger community.
When he received sacred orders in December 1991, “Grandiose’s specific signatures were already present” and large amounts of money was spent to find the robes worn by actor Robert de Niro in the film Duty Clark said Clark to wear it under coordination.
The prosecutor said that Mr. Brain will “suddenly appear” in the life of NOS’s female members, and “usually will take them in his car while walking”. He added that the defendant will find themselves alienated from the group.
A female community, who believes that the priest was “washed the brain ,, claims that he had fixed and raped him when his wife was in 1983 or 1984.
“On the one hand, he remembers that he moves his head and said“ no ,, Mr. Clark said to the jury. He felt freezing. ”
Another woman claims to ısıtmek put it on to bed ”. On this occasion, the Court would undress and rub against him while massaging him while wearing his underwear.
Mr. Clark said: “He told us how to get into a ‘robotic’ situation that did this, and dreamed of getting phone calls.”
Mr. Brain said he helped his victim “recover from sexual pressure”.
A third woman claims that the defendant will be called to the address of olma Helping to relax ”. He said that he had no friends except NOS and that he was afraid of being removed from the organization if he disobeyed.
He described him as the character “Jekyll and Hyde ,, Mr. Clark added: ı He was afraid of his anger if he did not follow, he wasolated if he hadn’t sent it, and he had set up what he had done to him (as a visible man of God).

Another complaint described him as a “a predator hiding at a straight view, which he would seç women he saw as vulnerable”.
The jury told the police that the homebase team consisted of “young, woman and beautiful” church members.
He once fixed him to the ground, pressed him against him and said that he was a kind of woman who wanted to be raped and cannot be spiritual unless he accepts it ”.
The prosecutor, “This acceptance until he continued to identify him,” he added. “He did not have such views, but he was afraid of him. His severe behavior suddenly and without warning.”
According to the jury members, the former priest took part in the 1995 documentary and adopted a series of female members of NOS for a sexual contact producer.
68 -year -old Mr. Brain, who rejected all the charges, insists that NOS is not a cult. He acknowledges that he has sex with some complainants, but is based on consent.
The eight -week hearing continues.
