Church of England priest Christopher Brain led cult and sexually abused a ‘staggering number of women’, jury told
A priest once greeted for his “groundbreaking” services, became the leader of a cult in the Church of England, and a court sexually abused the number of “amazing” women.
In the 80s and 90s, Christopher Brain, who led the Nine Progressive Nine Program Service (NOS) in Sheffield, was surrounded by women wearing underwear or revealing clothes as part of the “Homebase team”.

“NOS members became completely dependent on NOS and desperate for the attention and praise of the accused,” he added. “His time, financing, and ultimately this organization and leader were encouraged to give up his sense of self.”
