Meghan Markle makes bold ‘crisis comms’ move after staff walk out | Royal | News

Allegedly, the Duchess of Sussex has rehired a PR firm she first used as an actress after an employee from her PR team left last December. Meghan Markle has rehired Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis (SSML) and the development follows the departure of Sussex’s chief communications officer, Mereditch Maines.

Meredith was the couple’s 11th PR in just five years, and Meghan and Prince Harry decided to turn to a well-known organization rather than risk another. A source said Telegram: “SSML has been working on projects with the Duke and Duchess intermittently since 2017. Sunshine is currently working with her internal team on As Ever and with the couple, particularly on work in the US.”

When the couple took a six-week break from royal duties in late 2019, the Duchess met Keleigh Thomas Morgan as they planned the US launch of the Sussex Royal Foundation, later known as Archewell. Ms. Morgan is now a partner at Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis.

The PR firm’s client list also includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Natalie Portman, Bette Midler, Barbra Streisand, Jennifer Lopez and Michael Jackson’s family.

Meghan also launched a one-off Christmas holiday episode that aired in December.

The Duchess of Sussex also launched her podcast titled ‘Confessions of a Female Founder’ in spring 2025 in collaboration with Lemonada Media.

She interviewed female business leaders, exploring their entrepreneurial journeys, struggles, and successes, and also shared insights about her own startup.

Produced by Archewell Audio and Lemonada Media, the podcast aimed to provide authentic stories behind scaling businesses but received mixed reviews.
