A woman who witnessed something extraordinary during a near-death experience claims she is “no longer” afraid of dying. PR director Lorna Harris suffered a devastating health crisis in the summer of 2023 when she woke up in the early hours of the morning, overwhelmed by “crushing pain” in her chest and struggling to breathe.

The 52-year-old, from Whitstable, Kent, luckily managed to dial 999 after falling on the edge of the bed and pulled himself to the front door, allowing paramedics to enter and perform an electrocardiogram, or ECG. Lorna, who was said to have suffered a heart “event”, was loaded into the ambulance with her hands and feet numb and recalled the paramedic’s pressing words to the driver that “they had to go”.

Lorna said Mail: “The next thing I knew, I was surrounded by a light-washed wall of beautiful, sparkling white flashes. I saw myself from above, as if I were a drone flying above the action, being rushed out of an ambulance and hurtling down a corridor.”

He continued: “Then I saw a female doctor in scrubs giving me CPR. Then a surgeon walked in. He was wearing a brightly colored, attractive bandana and Vans sneakers. I saw myself half-dressed on the table and felt embarrassed.”

“The surgeon mentioned the bright pink pajama bottoms that were removed from my body and told the nurse to bag them for me. I can still see every inch of the room, the color of the walls, what the doctors looked like.”

He recalled how everything “went dark” and then the “most peaceful sleep” he had ever had. Lorna claims to be conscious that she is dead, but insists she “feels nothing but peace” with reassuring words for us all.

Later, Lorna arrived at cardiac care having been unconscious for several hours, but she claimed it felt like only a few minutes, and a nurse informed her that a clot had been removed from her heart.

Lorna had suffered a major heart attack and two heart attacks and reportedly died within minutes. He relayed his strange experience to another cardiologist on the ward.

He called NDEs “one of the last mysteries” and, even more remarkably, explained that during his tenure as a medical professional, he “often heard” patients claim to “see things.”

Additionally, the cardiologist said that they claimed to see items that were impossible to see on high shelves in the room.

Adding to the mysterious nature of Lorna’s experience, she also recalled that months later a friend was scheduled to meet with the surgeon who performed the surgery on her.

Lorna asked her friend to ask if she was actually wearing a “attractive” bandana. Her friend later called her to confirm that she was wearing “colorful” shoes and that she was also wearing “those shoes.”

In her final comments about her experience, Lorna stated that she was not afraid during the NDE, but instead felt “peaceful”, as if she were watching a different person.

He added that he is now hopeful about the afterlife and that he is not afraid of death “anymore.”
