Princess of Wales’s Christmas service to star actors including Kate Winslet
The Princess of Wales’s annual Christmas carol service will be in its fifth year early next month, with British film stars Kate Winslet, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Hannah Waddingham giving readings at the event.
“The power of love and togetherness” will be celebrated at the Together in Christmas event led by Catherine, who wants to recognize people across the country who contribute to society.
Organizers said the theme was chosen because people can celebrate love in all its forms in a world that can often feel fragmented and disconnected.
The ceremony, which will be a mix of traditional and modern elements to include people of all faiths and beliefs, will take place at Westminster Abbey on 5 December.
This past Christmas, Catherine similarly focused on the importance of giving and receiving love and empathy following her cancer diagnosis earlier in the year.

The event will feature a festive demonstration by gardener Jamie Butterworth based on the importance of nature in our lives.
The Royal Horticultural Society will also donate wreaths made by its ambassadors and schoolchildren.
15 community caroling ceremonies with the same theme of love and togetherness will also take place across the UK, including at a community farm in Gwent and an arts center in Newbury.
The Westminster Abbey service will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas Day.
