‘I stabbed him fully’: Killer Dino Donaldson bragged about murdering student Anojan Gnaneswaran on railway tracks over £50 drug deal in Twickenham

“I totally stabbed her,” the killer boasted after killing an accounting student on railway tracks in London.

Dino Donaldson, 21, of Caxton Road, Ealing, west London, was found guilty of murdering Anojan Gnaneswaran at Strawberry Hill station in Twickenham, south-west London, on January 8, 2024.

A fight broke out between two groups of men on the station platform over a £50 drug deal for 10 MDMA tablets before Dondaldson chased Mr Gnaneswaran, 21, onto the tracks and stabbed him in the chest, stomach and thigh.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Less than an hour later, Donaldson was caught smiling and laughing on CCTV on the N87 night bus.

The following words were also recorded on the doorbell camera: “I stabbed you in the back, bro, I stabbed you right in. I watched and felt it get inside you, yeah.”

He was arrested on 11 January 2024 at his home in west London, where he was discovered hiding in a cupboard.

Police found 74 wraps of the drug and heroin in his bedroom, with a street value of more than £1,000.

Following a unanimous verdict at the Old Bailey, Judge Angela Rafferty KC ordered the defendant remanded in custody and adjourned sentencing until a date to be determined.

British Transport Police Detective Chief Inspector Paul Attwell said: “A row over a drug deal resulted in a young man’s life being cut short by a ruthless thug.

“Donaldson showed his true colors as a coward that night by arming himself with a knife.

“His cowardice continued by never accepting responsibility and pleading guilty; thankfully the jury saw through his lies.

“While no verdict can compensate for Anojan’s loss, I hope today’s result provides his family with some sense of closure.

“Thanks to our thorough investigation, justice has now been served to the man responsible for killing his loved ones.”

Mr Gnaneswaran’s family paid tribute to his “much loved son and brother”.

A statement made through the British Transport Police said: “Anojan was in his third year studying accounting and finance at university and was very excited about his future.

“He excelled in all sports and achieved a first dan black belt in karate; he competed in the World and European championships in karate, and we will all miss him greatly.”
