Closely monitoring situation: India on Thailand-Cambodia clashes

At least 32 people were killed in border conflicts between the two Southeast Asian countries exploding on Thursday, and about 1.50,000 people took part in the border conflicts.
In reacting to the conflict, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) advised Indian travelers in the region to contact the relevant embassies in the two countries for any help.
“We closely monitor the situation along the border between Cambodia and Thailand,” Mea spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said. He said.
“India has close and friendly relations with both countries, and hoping that both sides will take measures to cut hostility and prevent further rise.” He said.
The Indian Embassy in Thailand and Cambodia has already made separate advice for Indian travels. The Indian mission in the Thai capital called on all Indian travelers to check updates from the authorities in the country before visiting touristic places in problematic regions. He urged the Indians to avoid traveling to seven states as proposed by Thailand’s tourism authority.
Thailand is a popular place for Indian tourists. In 2024, approximately 2.1 million Indian tourists visited the country.
The Embassy of India in Phnom Penh advised Indian citizens in Cambodia to avoid traveling to the border regions.
“Considering the ongoing conflicts on the Cambodian-Tayland border, Indian citizens are advised to avoid traveling to border areas,” “Cambodia-Tayland border.” He said.
