CM Calls BJP Govt A Permanent Corona
Chennai: Terming the Union BJP government as a ‘permanent Coronavirus’ attacking the State government, Chief Minister MK Stalin said his government has managed to overcome its own machinations and also overcome the adversity brought on by natural disasters emerging as the number one State in the country, as confirmed by the statistics released by various Central departments.
In a Pongal message to his party cadre on Tuesday, Stalin said he would attend the Jallikattu event to be held on January 17 at the world-class modern coliseum for the conduct of Tamil sports built by the DMK government at Alanganallur in Madurai.
He also announced that Tamil Sangamam, the Tamil cultural event that promotes traditional and folk art forms, will be held at various venues across the state from January 14, saying that the enthusiasm to celebrate Pongal this year is more evident as the five-year DMK rule has seen the government machinery and incessant seasonal rains bring happiness to farmers.
He said that the government’s objective was to break down all permanent barriers that hostile forces were trying to erect and bring lasting happiness to the people of the State and that it stood by the farmers and workers and provided succor to them during natural calamities in the last five years during which numerous welfare schemes were implemented.
The benefits of these programs have reached all sections of the population and helped their development; it also brought about the general growth of the people; This is evident from the testimonies of individuals and experts who opened their hearts at various events, such as the event commemorating the State as the best in education, celebrating ‘victorious women’ or the event titled ‘the world is in your hands’.
He said that ever since the decade-long darkness that engulfed the state was dispersed thanks to the dedicated work of DMK workers, various celebrations at various levels have been organized for them with colorful events and competitions across the state.
DMK continues the tradition of Tamils to celebrate Pongal festival through organizing events highlighting Tamil culture such as arts and literary festivals and sports events, he said, urging the party cadre to work for DMK’s victory in the elections.
