CNN Military Analyst Calls BS on Trump’s Kidnapping Defense

Even military personnel do not believe the Trump administration’s reasoning for removing Nicolás Maduro. CNN’s military analyst Cedric Leighton, a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, called Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s defense of the late-night capture of the Venezuelan president and his wife “a bit of an exaggeration” on Saturday’s CNN This Weekend show. “It would certainly be an exaggeration to say that this was for the protection of law enforcement personnel who would be conducting this operation,” Leighton told CNN’s Victor Blackwell.
