Trump ‘immediately’ ends deportation protections for Somalis in Minnesota

President Donald Trump said Friday evening that he was ending deportation protections for Somalis in Minnesota “effective immediately.”
“Minnesota, under Governor [Tim Walz] “Waltz is a hub for fraudulent money laundering activities,” Trump said on Truth Social.
He continued: “As President of the United States, I am terminating the Temporary Protected Status (TPS Program) for Somalis in Minnesota, effective immediately.”

Trump said, “Somali gangs are terrorizing the people of that great state and BILLIONS of Dollars are missing. Send them back to where they came from. IT’S OVER! President DJT.”

Minnesota has a sizeable Somali population, and the TPS program provides Somali citizens with the opportunity to live and work in the United States with temporary legal status due to dangerous conditions in the African country.
