Co-Owner Ajay Gupta to be Brought to Goa for Questioning

Panaji: Ajay Gupta, one of the four owners of Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub detained in Delhi, will be brought to Goa on Wednesday for questioning in connection with the fire that killed 25 people at the premises, a senior official said.
Earlier, a Lookout Circular (LOC) was issued against Gupta after the Goa police team failed to find him at his residence in Delhi.
“We later managed to detain him in Delhi,” the official said, adding that Gupta would be arrested after completing the formalities to bring him to Goa.
“Gupta will be flown to Goa on Wednesday for questioning,” the official said.
Saurabh Luthra and Gaurav Luthra, the two main owners of the nightclub in Arpora, Goa, fled to Phuket, Thailand, after the tragedy on the night of December 6. An Interpol Blue Corner Notice was published about them.
An LOC has also been issued against the nightclub’s other owner, Surinder Kumar Khosla, who is a British citizen, according to the police.
Police have arrested five people so far: the nightclub’s general manager Rajiv Modak, general manager Vivek Singh, bar manager Rajiv Singhania, door manager Riyanshu Thakur and employee Bharat Kohli.
