‘He was an unbalanced, bad monster’: Survivor describes the Manchester attack

A man who helped a synagogue barricade in Northern Manchester explained how an attack that killed two British Jews emerged.

On Thursday morning, Levy was in the Heaton Park Synagogue when Jihad al-Shamie entered a car and stabbed Yom Kippur to Mark for a service.

Mr. Levy said that the “monster” attacker tried to suppress the doors of the synagogue and lock the building with other members of the congregation.

53 -year -old Adrian Daulby and 66 -year -old Melvin Cravitz were killed in the attack on Thursday, three of them were injured while trying to protect worship.

Mr. Levy, the president of the Board of Trustees of the Heaton Park Synagogue, said that he held the doors to the entrance and that the attacker uses knife and plant containers to try to enter.

“I saw this big, big, bad monster shoulder charge at the front doors, and tried to press them with a knife in hand.

“All I’ve heard was to say, ‘This is what you would buy to kill our children’.

“This is the only thing I heard. And we were behind the doors and we said, ‘We don’t let this man go in’.

“It was an irregular, bad monster.”

Mr. Levy’s comments Hundreds of people participated in the funeral service for Mr. Cravitz.

Family members gathered in Pendlebury, Salford, to pay their respect for the members of the Congregations Rabbi Daniel Walker and wider Jewish community from the Heaton Park Hebrew community.

Those who mourned filled the front of the cemetery, many of them stood outside the prayer hall in the rain, listened to the service and praise on the speakers.

In a tribute broadcast on Friday, Mr. Cravitz’s family said, “He will do anything to help anyone”.

Bay Daulby, who was greeted by his family as a “hero”, was joining a service in the synagogue when the attack emerged.

“He was a beloved brother, four nephews and a nephew and a popular cousin loves his uncle,” his family added.

“The family is shocked by the tragic, sudden death of such a beautiful person towards the earth.

“The last action was a deep courage and will be remembered for his heroic action forever.”

Several arrests were made about the attack and Mahmood said he was detained on Sunday morning.

All four of them were arrested for the preparation and encouraging of terrorist acts.

Among those arrested, two men between the ages of 30 and 32 and both were arrested in Prestwich; A 61 -year -old woman arrested in Prestwich; And a 46 -year -old woman was arrested at Farnworth.

GMP said on Saturday that a 18 -year -old woman and a 43 -year -old man were released without any other action.
