Coal India production drops by 8.5 pc in June

New Delhi, July 1 (PTI) state -owned CIL Tuesday, the government aims to increase the output to reduce the addiction of imports, even if the production of coal in June, said 8.5 percent.

Coal production by PSU said that it was 63.1 mt in the relevant month of the previous financial year, Coal India Ltd (CIL) regulating a regulatory file.

In the first three months of the existing fiscal year, the coal exit by PSU fell to 183.3 mt above 189.3 mt produced during the April-June period of the previous financial year.

However, the company did not give any reason for the decrease in coal production.

According to industrial analysts, coal production is often faced with obstacles during the monsoon season. As a result, the output obtained from the mines is lower, as a result affecting sending to power plants.

The purchase of coal by PSU fell by 7.4 percent in June and over 65.2 mt in the relevant month of the previous financial year.

The inference of coal refers to the amount of coal provided to consumers from a coal mine or coal company.

The purchase of coal made by CIL during the April-June period fell to 190.1 mt above 198.9 mt in the relevant month of the previous financial year.

Coal India is more than 80 percent of local coal production.

Previously, Coal Minister G Kishan Redy said that the country would not have any shortage of coal in the upcoming monsoon season, as the government was ready to meet the demand in various sectors, including the power sector.

The Ministry of Coal said that it has previously committed to sustainable growth, improvement of coal presence and reducing dependence on imports.

With positive acceleration, the coal sector continues to play a very important role in giving strength to India’s growth story.

Coal India Ltd aims to produce 875 million tons in 2025-26 and a 900 mt production.
