Kim Waugh hopeful of winning double with Gloria and Rhinestone Lad
Local trainer Kim Waugh is hoping to hit winning form as he prepares to race towards the stable in two gallops at Sunday’s Wyong meeting.
Waugh will saddle Gloria when the mare makes her debut in the Mangrove Mountain Memorial Club and Golf Course Town Plate Maide Plate (1100m) and will also train Rhinestone Lad in the Domeland Kulnura Cup Benchmark 64 Handicap (2100m).

Jay Ford will partner Gloria, while Alysha Collett will ride Rhinestone Lad.
“Gloria is a mare by Maurice, out of a mare by Commands, and she is a lovely horse,” Waugh said. “We gave him a few trials in June and July and he recently had two more trials, winning the last one at Wyong on 10 November.
“Jay [Ford] “He was on him three times out of four, so we know him very well and expect him to have a good race on Sunday.”
Gloria will face trainer Peter Snowden’s only runner of the day, Wyong, who has made two starts on Compose, fourth and second, both at Hawkesbury.
