Collingwood denies rumours about coach Craig McRae’s personal life
Collingwood coach Craig McRae was forced to address his Magpies squad to deny rumors about his personal life.
McRae’s long-planned break from the club over Christmas has fueled rumors that the marriage has broken down.

Collingwood chief executive Craig Kelly said the rumors were unfounded, irresponsible and unfair but were so widespread and persistent that the club felt obliged to speak out on McRae’s behalf.
“The rumors floating around are completely false and unfair about Craig and his family. We should never be in a situation where a coach feels he needs to address the playing group over online rumors – everyone needs to be aware of how this reckless and irresponsible speculation can affect people and we will not stand for it,” Kelly said.

“Craig’s departure was planned in December last year and he was always going to go back to work and nothing more than that,” Kelly added.
“Craig has led the AFL program with authenticity, integrity and strong family values since joining the club and we will continue to support him and his family.”
