Columbus police seek person of interest in Tepe double murder case

Authorities have released chilling surveillance footage capturing a ‘person of interest’ in the unsolved murders of an Ohio dentist and his wife who were shot to death in their home.

New footage released Monday by the Columbus Police Department instagramIt shows a person walking slowly down a snowy street near the Weinland Park home of Spencer Tepe, 37, and his wife, Monique Tepe, 39.
The person is seen wearing what appears to be light-colored pants and a dark, hooded jacket.

As they walk in the early hours, their heads are bowed and their hands are in their pockets.
Detectives believe the couple was killed between 2 and 5 a.m. on Dec. 30 on the upper floor of their home on North 4th Street.
Police said surveillance video showed the man in question was in an alley near his home on the Hill during that critical time period.
“Detectives believe that the murder of Mr. and Mrs. Tepe occurred on the upper floor of their home between 02.00 and 05.00 on the morning of December 30,” police said in a statement online. he said.

“We have received and continue to receive numerous reports from the community that our detectives are following,” police said.
Spencer and Monique Tepe were found dead after a co-worker panicked when Spencer did not show up at Athens Dental Depot and did not respond to calls.
The police performed a health check, but when no one answered the door, they left the scene.
Officers later returned when co-workers and a friend reported hearing children in the house and seeing Spencer’s body next to the bed.
The friend called 911 at 9:57 a.m. and told the dispatcher she “thought she heard someone.” [the kids] “I’m yelling,” according to a call recording obtained by Fox News Digital.

The couple’s two young children, a 1-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, were found unharmed, as was the family dog. The children were then placed in the care of relatives.
Police said Spencer suffered multiple gunshot wounds, while Monique was shot at least once in the chest.
No weapon was found at the scene and authorities ruled out murder-suicide. There were also no signs of forced entry.
The Franklin County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed to Fox News Digital on Monday that both deaths resulted from “apparent homicide resulting from gunshot wounds.”

The Hills, who have been married for five years, were remembered by the family as devoted parents who built a life “based on love”.
A GoFundMe created to support his children has raised more than $146,000 while the investigation continues.
