Combat plane crashes in huge fireball while performing a vertical loop in front of crowd at Dubai Air Show
A fighter jet crashed in a massive fireball in front of a crowd during a demonstration at the Dubai Air Show.
The Indian HAL Tejas, a fighter jet used by the Indian Air Force, crashed while trying to perform a vertical loop around 2.10pm local time on Friday.
Footage showed thick black smoke billowing over Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai World Centre, watched by a crowd of onlookers and sirens blaring after the crash.
It is not yet clear whether the pilot ejected the plane before the crash or whether anyone was injured during the incident.
But according to Gulf NewsDubai Media Office confirmed that the pilot died during the incident.
An IAF spokesman said: ‘An IAF Tejas crashed at Dubai Air Show-25.
‘Further details are being determined at this time. ‘I’ll give more details after a while.’

It is not yet clear whether the pilot ejected from the plane or whether anyone was injured in the incident.

The city-state’s second airport was home to the biennial Dubai Air Show, where major aircraft orders were placed by both long-haul carrier Emirates and low-cost sister airline FlyDubai.
