A fighter jet crashed in a massive fireball in front of a crowd during a demonstration at the Dubai Air Show.

The Indian HAL Tejas, a fighter jet used by the Indian Air Force, crashed while trying to perform a vertical loop around 2.10pm local time on Friday.

Footage showed thick black smoke billowing over Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai World Centre, watched by a crowd of onlookers and sirens blaring after the crash.
