Communication board installed at KBR Park for autistic children

Hyderabad celebrated World Autism Day on Thursday, April 2, with the inauguration of a communication board installed in a public park for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The billboard was unveiled at KBR Park in Banjara Hills, signaling a step towards making public spaces more inclusive for neurologically diverse children.

The communication board features a set of visual icons taken from Avaz.com, an augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) platform. These symbols are designed to help children who have difficulty with verbal communication convey their needs, preferences, and feelings in a simple and accessible way.
