Baloch rebel group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) on Monday claimed that its ongoing operation named Operation Herof Phase II lasted for more than 40 hours in various parts of Balochistan. The group also claims heavy casualties among Pakistani security personnel and that many urban and rural areas of the province are under control.

In numerous statements and press releases shared on the Hakkal official platform, BLA said that the operation spread over a wide area of the province.

The group identified the woman as Hawa Baluch alias Droshum and said the video was her “last message recorded twelve hours before her martyrdom.”

According to sources cited by The Balochistan Post, Hawa Baloch was a writer and her father, who had previous connections with the Baloch armed movement, was killed in an encounter a few years ago.

In the video message, Hawa Baloch is seen urging Baloch women to join what she calls armed resistance. She accused the Pakistani state of “oppressing Baloch women as much as men” and claimed that women in the Baloch society were “neither intellectually nor practically weak”. She also added that it was high time for women to “stand up and seek justice.”

BLA also named another female fidai, identifying her as 23-year-old Asifa Mengal. The group claimed to have carried out a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) attack targeting the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) headquarters in Noshki on January 31.

Additionally, the group released a separate video highlighting the role of fidai Nako Fazal Baluch, whom the Baloch Liberation Army describes as the “eldest Baloch fidayi”, in the ongoing campaign.

In two explanatory statements issued by BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, the group claimed that its fighters had completed operations in areas covering Kharan, Mastung, Tump and Pasni, while clashes continued in many other places.

The statements also claimed that BLA fighters were operating in the Quetta and Noshki districts, and that the group claimed that Islamabad military forces had been “pushed back”.

BLA also claimed that more than 200 members of the Pakistan Army, police and Frontier Corps were killed and at least 17 people were taken prisoner in the attack.

The BLA also claimed that the actual number of casualties suffered by security forces was higher, stating that these figures were “preliminary and conservative estimates”.

In a separate matter related to the operation, BLA announced that it had captured Noshki Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Hussain Hazara and Deputy Commissioner Maria Shamoo. The group later released both, calling it a “humanitarian gesture”.

The BLA also admitted that 18 of its fighters were killed in the operation. According to the group, those killed included 11 fidais from the Majid Brigade, 4 fighters from the Fatah Company, and 3 fighters from the STOS unit.
