Police said 10 people were killed and at least 11 others, including two police officers, were injured when two gunmen opened fire on Sydney’s Bondi Beach on Sunday, adding that a major police operation was continuing.

The attack took place on the opening night of the eight-day Jewish holiday Hanukkah. According to media reports, gunmen began shooting shortly after 6.30pm local time as hundreds of people gathered at Bondi Beach to celebrate the start of the holiday.
