Cong. Maintains Balance Between Development, Welfare: Ponguleti

Nalgonda: The state government is committed to balanced development across Telangana and continues welfare measures for the people, revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said on Friday.

Referring to the “Praja Palana-Pragathi Pranalika” program at Dammaigudem in Dammaigudem mandal of Khammam district, he said that the government is focusing on infrastructure and amenities in both urban and rural areas. He said the 99-day “Praja Palana-Pragathi Pranalika” program aims to solve field level problems in towns and villages.

Srinivas Reddy said the Congress government remains committed to fulfilling all its pre-election promises to the people of Telangana. Ration cards are constantly being issued to eligible poor families, he said, adding that quality rice is distributed to ration card holders only in Telangana.

He said that 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses have been approved for eligible families in the first phase and construction is on. The official said that the second phase will be started in April and added that all eligible poor families will be included in the program within the next three years.

The minister said the government has fulfilled important pre-poll assurances, including crop loan waiver, bonus of Rs 500 per paddy and free travel for women in TGRTC buses.

He said the government has also undertaken pending works on priority, including culverts, repair of irrigation tanks and road laying works.

Later, Srinivas Reddy distributed Indiramma house sanction letters to the families of Rakasi thanda whose houses were buried under the Akeru river.

Earlier, it had laid the foundation stone of a high-end bridge to be constructed across Akeru stream between Dammaigudem and Solipuram at a cost of Rs 5.5 billion.

Clarification is needed: “filling 70,000 vacancies” is actually incomplete and preferably requires a precise reference to vacancies or jobs.
