Congress & Left match-fixing will end soon, says PM Modi as Kerala braces for assembly polls

In a letter to VV Rajesh and GS Asha Nath, who were elected as Mayor and Deputy Mayor in the Kerala capital, Modi heaped praise on BJP workers in the southern state for their work that led to the party’s “historic performance” in the Thiruvananthapuram local elections. Modi’s letter written on the Varanasi MP’s letterhead went viral.
The Prime Minister said our party’s success in the capital Kerala signals that the people of the state, especially the youth and women, are ready for a new dawn. “BJP-NDA is emerging as the people’s option, rooted in exclusion-free nationalism, corruption-free development and uncompromising governance. LDF and UDF’s fixed pairing of being friends in Delhi and ‘rivals’ in Kerala is about to end soon. Kerala wants to get rid of its broken promises.”
Modi said that the BJP made history in Kerala on the day when Prakash and Asha Nath were sworn in as mayor and deputy mayor, adding that this achievement brings great happiness and pride. He described the achievement as groundbreaking. “It is a turning point written in golden letters.”
“For decades, BJP workers in Kerala have walked a difficult path. The politics of the state is dominated by the LDF and UDF, which have a record of mismanagement for all to see. Moreover, these fronts have perpetuated a culture of corruption and brutal violence that is against the ethos of Kerala. But despite all the hardships, hostility and brutal violence, our Karyakartas have stood tall. They have fearlessly raised the issues of the people, bravely carried the party flag and the India First ideology. In the letter, he said, if speaking had a price to pay “We even spoke on behalf of people’s aspirations. Many of them are not among us today, but I am sure their prayers are with you.”
Thiruvananthapuram has a proud place in the mind of every Malayali. Modi said the city has produced thought leaders, social reformers, artists, musicians, poets, cultural giants, saints and seers. “Our vision of building Vikasita Thiruvananthapuram resonated with people all over the city from all walks of life. People saw our government’s work at the Center and our efforts towards urban development in different states, so they decided to bless us. I thank the people of this city for their warmth.”
