Congress leader K Muraleedharan on Sunday (November 24, 2025) criticized the four new labor laws introduced by the Centre, terming them “anti-national” and said the party will not support them.

Mr. Murleedharan claimed that under the new laws, workers can form an organization only if at least 10% of its members are members of the organisation.

He said that this provision was wrong, saying that it was the right of workers to establish a union.

“If any laborer can form an organisation, at least 10% of the members must be part of the organisation. This is not right. It is their right to form organisations. They are encouraging factory owners and fully supporting the management. Workers are not getting justice from most of the administration in India. This is affecting Kerala too. This is anti-national and we will not support it,” the Congress leader said. MOMENT.

According to the Industrial Relations Act 2020, one of the four regulations implemented by the Centre, Trade Unions with 51% membership are recognized as Negotiating Unions.

According to the center, such a regulation strengthens collective bargaining. The law also expanded the definition of a strike to include “collective temporary leave within its scope” to prevent sudden attacks and guarantee legal action.
