Heartbreaking tribute from Savannah Guthrie’s husband as family marks first Mother’s Day since Nancy kidnapping

Savannah Guthrie’s husband shared a heartbreaking Mother’s Day post for his beloved wife, who was celebrating for the first time since her mother Nancy was kidnapped.
On Sunday, Michael Feldman posted a simple yet emotional message honoring Savannah on this bittersweet holiday.
‘To the strongest person I know. Surrounding you with love on Mother’s Day,” Feldman wrote alongside two red hearts and a broken heart emoji.
In the photo she shared, Savannah was seen embracing her two young children, Vale and Charley.
“I’m holding you,” Savannah’s dear friend and Today show co-worker Hoda Kotb wrote right below Feldman’s caption, with a heart emoji.
Sunday marks Savannah’s first Mother’s Day without Nancy, who disappeared from her home in Tucson, Arizona, on February 1.
Her whereabouts are unknown as she was last seen by family members on January 31 after attending a game night.
Investigators believe 84-year-old Nancy was abducted by unidentified persons approximately 100 days ago.

Some evidence has come to light since the case was first filed, but none has resulted in an arrest.
The latest set of evidence emerged in early April after FBI agents discovered ‘potentially critical’ new DNA at Nancy’s home.
Agents sent the sample to a private lab in Florida, sources said. ABC News.
Pieces of hair found on Nancy’s property are among the new evidence tested. NewsNation has been reported previously.
They will use the latest technology to analyze the results and see if they flag a possible suspect in the kidnapping.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department previously said the DNA found at Nancy’s home was a sample from more than one person.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos recently told the neighborhood watch group that it could take another six months to identify the sample, sources said.
Nanos said five other laboratories across the U.S. are working on the Nancy case, but the names of the facilities, what their roles are and whether they have additional DNA samples related to the case remain unclear.

The ongoing investigation into Nancy’s surprising disappearance is being led by nearly two dozen Pima County and FBI investigators.
So far they have examined a series of blackmail messages sent to the Guthrie family and media outlets demanding money in bitcoin in exchange for Nancy.
None of the ransoms were paid, as the Guthrie family demanded proof of life from them but never received a ransom.
Authorities and the family also could not verify the authenticity of the ransom notes, although they agreed to pay.
Only a few people were interrogated during the investigation. No one was arrested.
Various evidence was also found in the house and surrounding area, including drops of Nancy’s blood on the front porch, a shattered doorbell camera, and various gloves.
Surveillance footage also shows a masked man outside his front door tampering with the doorbell camera before grabbing it.
Dave Smith, a former lieutenant with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, recently told Fox News Digital that he believes Nancy may have been taken to Mexico because Tucson is right near the border.

Savannah, her sister Annie and brother-in-law Tommaso somberly laid flowers at the memorial site outside Nancy’s home in March.
Smith told the outlet: ‘My first thought is always a major crime is happening in Mexico because it’s a great haven and it’s hard for us to keep track.
Tucson is located about 60 miles from the border and that scenario is a “strong possibility,” Smith said.
Smith also stated that the masked suspect, seen in security footage obtained from the Guthrie’s Nest doorbell camera, was carrying a holstered handgun that he described as a ‘Mexican carry’ style.
Retired law enforcement officials also noted that the rugged terrain surrounding Tucson made the search difficult.
‘The entire Tucson Valley is literally built around these arroyos, these ephemeral rivers,’ he said. ‘It’s like a giant street stretching through neighborhoods.’
He said the desert offers countless hiding places and quickly destroys evidence.
“The evidence is tentative,” Smith said. ‘When it rains your footprints disappear, the sun is harsh on other types of evidence and frankly it’s a difficult place to investigate crimes.’
He suggested that tensions between local investigators and the FBI may have been tied to concerns that evidence pointing to Mexico could turn the case into a federal investigation.
Sheriff Chris Nanos and FBI Director Kash Patel publicly disagreed about how quickly federal authorities became involved in the case.
Patel previously discussed Nancy’s case on FBI defense Sean Hannity’s podcast.
Even though Guthrie’s case was a state matter, they were completely shut out by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, he said.
‘We were excluded from the investigation for four days,’ he said, adding that this was particularly damaging because ‘the first 48 hours when someone disappears are the most critical period.’
