Gibbons confident investment in Dividends will pay off at Grafton
Jockey Andrew Gibbons is hoping to pull off a successful hit-and-run mission at Grafton on Tuesday, when he will race twice on the seven-race card.
A frequent traveler to country meetings, Gibbons will link up with her first impressive winner, Dividend Payout, when she lines up in the Cansdell Signs Grade 1 Handicap (1040m) for trainer Cathleen Rode. Gibbons linked up with Dividends Paid when his first race started at Coffs Harbor last month and was impressed with the result.

“He had had good trials in Port Macquarie before making his debut in Coffs Harbor and the trial was good,” Gibbons said. “He did that when he won in really impressive fashion at Coffs Harbour.
“He jumped well, got into the lead, did everything right and kept them safely on the line to score.
“There was a lot to like about the win and he should race fast again at Grafton and run plenty again because of the good barrier.”
Dividends Paid will face stiff opposition from Paul Shailer’s Hey Daisy; this team followed up on a spell with a solid second place finish behind Larado on the Sunshine Coast and confirmed that form by winning in the metropolitan class in Brisbane at the weekend. Dylan Turner rides Hey Daisy at Grafton.
Gibbons’ second ride at Grafton will be the Rode-trained Love Mouse in the Hip Pocket Workwear and Safety Grafton Benchmark 66 Handicap (1040m).

“He’s a horse who’s been around for a while, but he’s been on his feet occasionally, winning six of his 49 starts,” Gibbons said. “He’s actually performed well in two of his last three starts at Taree, at Coffs Harbor and Grafton. If he can repeat those efforts he could easily make money.”
Leading trainer Matthew Dunn has just one runner at Grafton and that will be favorite Lord Of Flames running the Causley Wholesale Country Elevated Maide Plate (1040m) with Andrew Mallyon.
