Cops investigating separate murders in Mississauga, Toronto

Two murders are under separate police investigations in Mississauga and Toronto this weekend, authorities said Saturday.

A male suffering from gunshot wounds was located by the responding officers, but the victim died of his injuries at the scene, police said.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation and there was an increased police presence in the area, cops said.
Police didn’t provide any further information about what led to the shooting, the victim’s identity or a suspect description.
A Peel police spokesperson told reporters at the scene that the shooting appeared to be an “isolated incident” and that there were no public safety concerns.
“Officers are still in the area,” the spokesperson said. “They’re knocking on people’s doors, looking for anybody who may have any witness information.”

Meanwhile, Toronto Police said one person was found dead in the city’s west end Saturday morning.
Police said in a social media post that officers were called to a King West Village residence near Strachan Ave. and Wellington St. W. at 6:30 a.m.

Officers located a deceased person inside the residence, police said, and classified the death as a homicide.
The Homicide Unit has taken over of the investigation, cops added.
Police didn’t say if the deceased individual was male or female.
And no further details were immediately released.
