Cops See Warangal Pool Deaths As ‘Triple Murder’

Investigations into the death of a woman and her two daughters in a swimming pool at Punnelu in Inavolu mandal of Hanamkonda district took a gruesome turn with the police treating the case as a calculated triple murder as the accused’s husband reportedly wanted a son.
Suspect Azharuddin initially claimed that his wife Farhat and daughters 8-year-old Umera and 6-year-old Ayesha accidentally drowned. However, sources said evidence collected by the Inavolu police pointed to a premeditated conspiracy linked to a dispute over Farhat’s third pregnancy.
Police said Azharuddin was obsessed with having a son. Farhat’s parents claimed that he had previously forced her to have an abortion twice after learning that the fetuses were girls. The conflict re-emerged three months ago when Farhat became pregnant again. It was alleged that Azharuddin, upon learning that there was another girl, pressured her for a third abortion. When he refused, tensions escalated, culminating in tragedy on Wednesday night, ironically on Umera’s birthday.
Technical evidence strengthened the suspicions. Investigators found that CCTV cameras at the pool had been deliberately turned off before the incident. While Azharuddin claimed that he found the bodies after returning from the toilet, Farhat’s family claimed that he strangled her and then killed the children to silence them.
Azharuddin is in police custody and is being questioned by senior officials. Police believe he staged the drowning to mislead investigators, but inconsistencies in his statements and the disabling of the cameras point to his direct involvement. An official statement regarding the accusations is expected to be made after forensic reports from MGM Hospital, where autopsies were performed.

Student who stole his family’s gold was arrested
Kanchanbagh police solved a house burglary case by arresting a 19-year-old student who stole gold ornaments from his own house and destroyed them with the help of his two friends. The incident was reported by Rahmath Shareef (56), who complained that his wife and daughter’s belongings were missing from his wardrobe. Because there was no sign of forced entry, investigators suspected the role of an insider.
Suspicions fell on the police after they noticed the unusually calm behavior of the complainant’s son, Mohammed Adnaan Seref, and that he was using his newly purchased iPhone 16. Interrogation revealed inconsistencies, and Adnaan eventually admitted to stealing the ornaments four times in March. He handed them over to his friends Mohammed Rehan Uddin and Mohammed Sameer, who helped him dispose of the property in exchange for quick money.
Police said Adnaan used this income to buy gold and a Verna car to finance a lavish lifestyle. While the trio was arrested, 137 grams of gold ornaments, 4 mobile phones and a car were seized. Three people were referred to the courthouse with a request for arrest.

Father kills his twin daughters due to gender discrimination in Karimnagar
A man allegedly poisoned and strangled his four-year-old twin daughters in Jubileenagar in Karimnagar district on Friday. The accused, 28-year-old Kacchu Srisailam, an employee of a private company, reportedly expressed deep resentment over having a daughter.
According to Karimnagar Rural ACP G. Vijay Kumar, Srisailam married Mounika six years ago and the couple had twin daughters, Geetanshi and Geetha Navika (4). Family members alleged that Srisailam often quarreled with his wife for having a daughter. Despite various counseling attempts by elders and relatives, family strife continued.
The couple argued over the same issue Friday morning, police said, citing the complaint. Later in the evening, Srisailam took the two girls to an agricultural field on the pretext of sightseeing. It is claimed that he forcibly gave the children poisonous substances (herbicide) and threw them into a deep well.
Realizing that the twins were missing, locals became suspicious of his behavior when they returned to the village and confronted him. When they realized the situation, they beat him and handed him over to the police. While Geetanshi’s body was found floating and rescued, divers were searching for the second child, Geetha Navika, in the well and the surrounding area.
ACP Vijay Kumar said that he along with Karimnagar Rural CI A. Niranjan Reddy and other police personnel visited the spot to supervise the investigation and search operations and confirmed that the accused is currently in police custody for interrogation.
Police personnel have been deployed to Jubileenagar to prevent any flare-up or retaliatory violence. An official case of murder has been registered and police officials are waiting for the autopsy report to confirm the exact cause of death, he added.
