Catherine Tyldesley has opened up about her ‘secret’ health condition and weighed in on weight loss shots in a candid interview.
The 42-year-old actress, who plays the iconic Eva Price in Coronation Street, revealed she was juggling the situation after leaving the soap and joining the cast of Strictly Come Dancing in 2019.
Explaining how the high amount of workload affected her health, she said that it increased her hormones, which in turn caused a reaction. There were fluctuations in her weight to the point where she felt like she was ‘going to have a baby’ without having children.
‘My hormones are fine most of the time, but after Strictly and the tour they got a bit weird,’ she said Sun.
‘My estrogen can sometimes go up a little. The hours we work and everything. In our business you have to be fit as a fiddle.’
Saying she now knows better what her body needs and respects that much more than I do, Catherine later got realistic when discussing Corrie’s representation of weight loss injections.

While Corrie’s Bethany Platt (played by Lucy Fallon) is currently taking a few weight-loss injections, Catherine has stressed the importance of addressing the issue in soaps.
‘This pressure [on image] It doesn’t seem like it will disappear, especially on social media.
‘I’m at a point in my life where I’m training hard, eating well, treating myself occasionally, working hard; “This is where I need to be,” he added.
The series favorite left Coronation Street in 2018, and this year it was announced that Eva would return after seven years, with scenes broadcast last October.
Eva famously had a relationship with Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward) during her time on the series, but he also had an affair with Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon).
When Eva found out, she faked a pregnancy as an act of revenge and spent Aidan’s savings on a pink Range Rover.
The two later become engaged but Maria breaks into the wedding to reveal the truth about the fake pregnancy.
Shortly afterwards, Eva discovered that she was actually pregnant with Aidan’s baby, but agreed to give the child to her half-sister Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor).

Shortly after this, Aidan took his own life in 2017 and Eva became attached to baby Susie, leaving the cobbles with her in the back of a taxi.
Catherine later starred in the short-lived sitcom Scarborough and starred in Bonnie & Clyde: The Musical, but it was canceled halfway through the tour due to poor ticket sales.
The soap star reunited with X Factor winner Shayne in The Good Ship Murder, whose second series began airing in January.
News of Catherine’s comeback comes shortly after she admitted she would ‘never say never’ to a comeback.
He told Prima magazine: ‘Coronation Street seems so long ago but I always look back on it with great fondness.
‘But if they approached me with a great story and the time was right, of course I’d come back. So it’s always a case of never say never.’
