Councils kick up stink over Statewide shortage of dog poo bags

Not only are there fuel and fertilizer shortages due to conflict in the Middle East, but councils in Western Australia are now running out of dog poo bags.
Kalamunda City attributed the shortage of dog waste collection bags to “global shipping delays.”
“We asked a few questions about empty dog poop bag dispensers in the city, so this is it,” he said in a social media post.
“There’s a dog poop bag shortage being felt across Western Australia right now (yes, it’s not just us).”
The city said a large order of nearly three million bags was placed earlier this year.
The shipment was scheduled to arrive in March but was now unlikely to reach Fremantle for at least another three weeks.
It has been busy “chasing its tail” trying to source bags from other councils, “exploring” alternative suppliers and placing ad hoc orders where possible.
“Unfortunately, there is a larger shortage and we are out of stock,” the post said.
“Notifications will appear on dispensers so everyone is aware of the situation.”
Dog owners are asked to bring their own waste collection bags when walking with their dogs.
