Urgent recall issued for Warwick Meats Minced Beef over fears of plastic contamination, shoppers urged to return product

A premium Australian minced beef product has been urgently recalled over fears of plastic contamination, with shoppers urged to return the product immediately.

Warwick Meats QLD has warned customers that its Premium 4 Star Minced Beef 500g with an expiry date of 13/12/2025 may be contaminated with plastic material.

The product is available at independent retailers including IGA in NSW and QLD.

In the notice sent to Food Standards Australia and New Zealand, consumers were advised to return the minced meat to the place of purchase for a full refund.

The presence of foreign material poses a food safety hazard and the warning states: “Food products containing plastic may cause illness/injury when consumed.”
