County Championship: Spectators told to stay away after Storm Dave

Spectators have been told to stay away from Durham’s Riverside ground in Chester-le-Street after it was hit by Storm Dave overnight.
The start of the third day of the County Championship Division Two match between Durham and Kent has been postponed.
In the statement made by the club, it was stated that “there was damage to the field” and fans were advised to stay away.
The statement continued: “The club held discussions with match officials and ground staff this morning and it has been confirmed that following the impact on the pitch and ground structures, play will not start on time and a further update will be provided in due course.
“In all decisions we make, the safety of everyone involved is our number one priority.”
The extent of damage to international cricket hub Riverside is yet to be revealed.
