Couple charged over bestiality and child abuse material

A man and a woman are facing charges following an investigation into child sexual abuse and bestiality.
South Australian detectives allege the case involved serious breaches of community standards and expectations.
Officers investigating online child abuse material raided a home in Adelaide’s northern suburbs on Wednesday.
SA police claimed that an examination of electronic devices revealed child abuse crimes and that residents of the building were engaging in bestiality.
It was also claimed that the building’s residents were using it as a brothel.
A 39-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were charged with sexual abuse and mistreatment of animals.
The man was also charged with possession of child abuse material and running a brothel.
They were bailed to appear at the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.
Other electronic devices were also seized for analysis.
Detective Chief Inspector George Fenwick said the arrests followed an investigation by specialist detectives determined to protect children from those who seek to exploit and abuse them online.
“These allegations represent a disgusting and blatant violation of the law and a profound violation of community standards and expectations,” he said.
“We will continue to work with our partners to identify, investigate and prosecute anyone who seeks to exploit or harm those in the community who are unable to protect themselves.”
The operation involved officers from the SA Joint Child Exploitation Team assisted by the RSPCA.
