Teenager charged with murder over daylight stabbing

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a man was stabbed to death in broad daylight.
Police were called to a busy intersection in Ascot Vale, in Melbourne’s north-west, at around 3.45pm on Sunday after a 40-year-old man was found with stab wounds.
The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
A 16-year-old boy from the Moonee Valley area was arrested in Carlton at around 10.45am on Wednesday.
He has since been charged with murder and will appear in juvenile court at a later date.
An 18-year-old man of no fixed address was charged on Monday with wounding with intent, affray, escaping from custody and theft.
He was ordered to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on December 18.
Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the stabbing.
