Cowboys exec backs Bad Bunny Super Bowl halftime show pick

Charlotte Jones, daughter of Dallas Cowboys executive vice president and chief brand officer Jerry Jones, expressed her support for Bad Bunny performing at the Super Bowl LX halftime show.
The NFL’s selection of the Grammy-winning artist sparked backlash when it was announced due to his criticism of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials as the Trump administration began a crackdown on illegal immigration in the spring and summer.

Jones appeared “The Katie Miller Podcast” He said Tuesday it was “awesome” to have Bad Bunny perform in Santa Clara, Calif., at the biggest sporting event of the year and said he wasn’t interested in his political comments.
“I think our Latino fan base is great. And I think when you think about the Super Bowl, you want the No. 1 player in the world to be there,” Jones said. “We’re on a global stage, and we can never forget that. Our play comes out to everyone around the world, and I think it’s great to have leading artists want to be a part of our play. We have a mixed culture. Our whole society is made up of immigrants who came here and founded our country. I think we can celebrate that. I think the show will be amazing.”
“I don’t think our game is about politics,” Jones continued. “I don’t think people are looking at politics. We’re doing everything we can to avoid politics. I think in that moment people are going to watch the game, celebrate the music, and no one is going to think about what comments are on the left, what comments are on the right. It’s about bringing people together.”

Jones added that the Cowboys organization “has always felt strongly that politics should never enter our game” and wants the entire fan base to support the team, not just those who support one political group.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell also stood firm on Bad Bunny’s selection, while Jay-Z brushed off criticism last month.
