Cricket NSW revokes life membership after domestic violence conviction
Former Australian cricketer Michael Slater has had his lifetime membership and hall of fame status with Cricket NSW revoked following domestic violence offences.
This imprint could reveal the 55-year-old is no longer a life member of Cricket NSW after being voted in at Monday evening’s annual general meeting.

Sources who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the issue confirmed that members and delegates approved a motion put forward by the board to strip Slater of his honour.
Slater was convicted of domestic violence against women in 2022. Five NSW women have taken out protection orders against him since 2016.

In Queensland, Slater was sentenced in the Maroochydore District Court in April after admitting seven charges, including two of strangling a woman.
He was inducted into the Cricket NSW hall of fame in 2015 after a glittering career that included 74 Tests, 42 one-day internationals and 216 first-class matches for NSW and Australia.
In 2016 Slater was awarded life membership of Cricket NSW. This imprint was told that Slater’s hall of fame status had already been revoked before Monday’s meeting.
