Miss Grand Thailand contestant Kamolwan Chanago’s false teeth suddenly fall out mid-speech during live event

A lot can go wrong for a fancy-dressing beauty pageant performer, but few who watched the Miss Grand Thailand event earlier this week would have expected false teeth falling out of a contestant’s mouth on stage to be one of them.

Unfortunately for Thai beauty Kamolwan Chanago, the nightmare came true and images of the shocking incident quickly went viral.

Ms. Chanago, wearing a showgirl-inspired outfit that included a feathered shawl and sequined dress, addressed the crowd with her opening remarks before her veneers suddenly loosened and caught them as she walked away from the audience.

The fierce competitor, who quickly recovered himself, turned his head towards the audience as he overcame this sad moment and began to strut on the runway as if nothing had happened.

When Ms. Chanago showed little sign of her confidence faltering, the supportive crowd cheered and she opened her mouth once again to reveal her radiant smile.

The incident occurred during the preliminary judging round, where the winner will be determined on Saturday.

Ms. Chanago represented Pathum Thani province, a central region of Thailand.

Miss Grand Thailand was founded in 2013 by Nawat Itsaragrisil, the television host and producer behind Miss Thailand World.

This weekend’s pageant winner will fly her country’s flag at Miss Grand International 2026, scheduled to take place in India in October.

Emma Tiglao from the Philippines won the global crown in Bangkok in 2025.
