Crossroads Church pastor Brian Tome suspended amid investigation

Senior Crossroads Church pastor Brian Tome has been suspended pending an independent investigation into “inappropriate physical humor,” the church statement said.
Tome is a founding member of one of them. America’s largest churchesHe will be suspended from late 2015 pending an independent review of inappropriate behavior during a video shoot.
Church spokeswoman Erin Caproni declined to answer questions when reached by phone on Feb. 28 but said police were not involved.
The email sent to church members on Feb. 27 did not specify what Tome was accused of doing.
But he noted that the church believes the issue has been resolved after the Crossroads Spiritual Board reviewed the issue in 2024 and hosted a productive conversation between the parties involved.
“The board reminded Pastor Tome of the gravity of his words and actions and formally warned Pastor Tome to be careful beyond accusations,” the statement said. The statement was included.

The same community member contacted the church again about the incident, prompting Crossroads to hire an independent investigator, the statement said.
“The Spiritual Board of Crossroads has officially suspended Pastor Tome from all Crossroads responsibilities until the investigation is completed. We are committed to how long the investigation will take and will provide updates as we learn more.”
Tome is the senior pastor of Crossroads, which he helped found in 1995. The church has six locations in Greater Cincinnati and has expanded to Dayton, Columbus and Lexington, Kentucky. The church broadcasts its services to thousands of people each week.
Crossroads employee was recently fired
In January, a Crossroads employee was fired after police told the church that the employee was secretly filming women working out at Crunch Fitness in Oakley.
“This behavior grossly violates biblical standards and expectations of any person on staff. As a result, that person has been removed from staff,” Tome said.
Tome said Crossroads leadership is working to ensure that staff terminations do not negatively impact the department.
