A total of 67 dog breeds could be banned in Britain if new breeding rules set by Parliament become mandatory, campaigners have warned.

The all-party parliamentary group for animal welfare (APPG) has launched a new 10-point checklist to assess whether a dog is healthy, including signs of excessive skin folds, everted eyes, drooping eyelids and a muzzle that stops breathing.

The evaluation, which is currently voluntary but is expected to become law within five years, aims to eliminate breeds with such exaggerated features.
