Cyberabad Police Visit RGIA Amid IndiGo Flight Cancellations

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police officials visited the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Friday amid a spate of IndiGo flight cancellations. Shamshabad DCP B. Rajesh, Additional DCP K. Purnachander Rao, ACP V. Srikanth Goud and RGIA Police Station inspector Sampathi Kanakaiah inspected the airline’s check-in counters, boarding gates and passenger movement. IndiGo’s regional manager briefed officers about the operational glitches and said efforts were on to restore services. Police advised station staff to ensure the comfort of passengers during peak hours until normal operations resume.
Man Attempted Suicide Outside Kukatpally Police Station
Hyderabad:A man, allegedly duped by a fraudster, tried to die by suicide outside Kukatpally police station on Thursday night. Kukatpally inspector KV Subba Rao said the victim, Anand Varaprasad, was a software engineer from Bhimavaram in Andhra Pradesh, who was preparing for competitive exams here.
Police said Varaprasad took a loan from his friend Veeresh while he was in Delhi and promised to help him find a job. He failed to arrange a job. While returning from Delhi, Varaprasad met a man who introduced himself as a police officer and shared his phone number. When Veeresh insisted on repayment, Varaprasad contacted the alleged police officer to mediate.
Police said the man picked up Varaprasad in a car and took him to Pedda Amberpet near Hayathnagar and accused him of committing business fraud. Facing the threat of arrest, Varaprasad was forced to pay the man more than Rs 1.3 lakh.
The man went to the Kukatpally police and released Varaprasad, who filed a complaint. He was told that the case would be handed over to Saifabad police. Thereupon, he tried to die by suicide and then called the police. The person was taken to the hospital and received treatment there.
Kukatpally police registered a case against the unidentified police officer and handed over the matter to Saifabad police. Saifabad inspector Raghaveender said neither the victim nor his family responded to the police.
Student driving under the influence of alcohol was injured in an accident
Hyderabad: A 19-year-old student traveling in the car was seriously injured when his friend, who was allegedly drunk, crashed his car into the guard rails at KPHB Nizampet junction in the early hours of Friday. While Sangwar Aditya was hospitalized, police arrested Shravan Kumar, who was behind the wheel, for drunk driving and negligence.
The police took action on the complaint filed by Aditya’s Sangwar Varma. He said they were returning from a birthday party when the accident happened around 4.30pm on Thursday night. Aditya, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, suffered a heavily bleeding injury on the left side of his head.
50 Job Candidates Deceived in Medical Coding Training Scam
Hyderabad: At least 50 job aspirants were allegedly duped and absconded by two men who collected amounts ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh from each intern on the promise of training them in medical coding training and employment. The victims approached the Madhapur police earlier this week and the police arrested one of the accused, Shiva Reddy, while the other, Srikanth Joshi, absconded.
According to the police, these people were employees of two institutes, one in Kondapur and the other in Madhapur. They reportedly offer training and placement in medical coding jobs to unemployed graduates, mostly with science backgrounds.
Initially, around 50 students from Karimnagar, Siddipet and other districts signed up for online ‘certified professional coder (CPC)’ coaching by paying Rs 15,000 each. Police said they were given certificates after six months of online training.
Joshi then allegedly claimed to be an AAPC certified member and told students that they would need to take an exam administered by a US-based institution to qualify for job placement. He informed them that the exam would be held on November 30 in Ameerpet and Gachibowli and collected additional fees of between Rs 50,000 and Rs 1 lakh from each.
Students were told that their hall tickets would be given on the same day. When it didn’t materialise, they tried to reach Joshi but his phone was switched off. Shiva Reddy was also unavailable. When students visited the office, the owner claimed he had no idea the money was being collected.
Severe Cold Wave Warning Issued by Cyberabad Traffic Police for December 7-17

Cyberabad traffic police on Friday issued a weather alert on platform X, warning of a severe cold wave between December 7 and 17. According to the warning, minimum temperatures are likely to be in single digits across Cyberabad, especially between December 8 and 14.
Minimum temperature in core urban areas including UoH campus, Serilingampally and Nanakramguda is expected to be between 6°C to 8°C in the early morning hours. Temperatures may drop further in outer areas such as Chevella, Moinabad, Rajendranagar and Shamshabad, ranging between 5°C and 8°C, the advisory said.
Weather conditions are expected to remain completely dry from 6 to 23 December, with no precipitation forecast. Traffic police urged citizens to stay warm, be careful when driving in the early morning hours and plan their trips accordingly. More updates will be released as necessary.
Maharashtra Duo Arrested for Online Trading Scam worth Rs 81.55 Lakh
Hyderabad:Cyberabad cybercrime police on Friday said they arrested Swapnil Rajesh Ghasing and Tejas Rajesh Bankar from Maharashtra for allegedly duping an IT employee of Rs 81.55 lakh through a fake online trading platform.
Some people were detained upon the complaint of the victim. He was added to a WhatsApp group via a shared link and encouraged to invest through a fake trading app.
Group members coordinated conversations praising a purported trading analyst and posted fabricated profits to establish credibility, according to authorities. After small initial deposits showed false returns, the victim was persuaded to invest larger sums in IPOs and “block trades.”
The defendant then claimed the funds were “frozen” and requested additional deposits for their release. When the complainant tried to withdraw, he was asked to pay ₹35 lakh more as service charge. Only Rs 500 was refunded before communication was cut off.
Apart from this, between November 26 and December 2, Cyberabad cybercrime police detected five cases in various states and arrested 19 criminals. It was stated that nine of those arrested were linked to trade fraud.
Police also obtained 93 restitution orders in 39 cases, recovering Rs 47,14,805 from victims through court orders.
Khammam Special Squad Arrests Two Men for Poaching Spotted Deer
Hyderabad: Khammam district task force, in coordination with Sathupally forest division, said that two key accused involved in the recent spotted deer (chital) poaching incident within Sathupalli City Park have been arrested. The other two people were arrested on December 3 and sent to prison.
On Friday, Mecha Raghu and Kunja Bharat were arrested after an intense search operation led by FDO Sathupally V. Manjula, forest range officer Sathupally and the district task force team. The court later remanded the duo to judicial custody till December 16, according to a statement made by district forest officer Siddharth Vikram Singh.
To prevent recurrence of such incidents in the park and adjoining forest areas, the forest department will intensify 24-hour patrols and surveillance, strengthen the secret intelligence network and conduct regular anti-poaching raids and screening operations, the statement said.
Task Force Arrests Three Persons for Selling Drugs at Saifabad Theater
Hyderabad: Task force police arrested three persons for selling drugs and seized 100 grams of brown sugar and 1.35 kg of dry ganja from a theater in Saifabad police limits on Friday. Among the three accused, Feroz Bin Ali of Attapur and Sulaiman Khan of Attapur procured the drugs from Mohd Gulam Jilani of Medchal, police said. Jilani told the police that his supplier was an Afsar from Odisha.
YouTube Reporter arrested for extortion offer worth Rs 40 Lakh
Hyderabad: Panjagutta police on Friday arrested 40-year-old Munige Mahender, a YouTube channel reporter, for allegedly trying to extort Rs 40 lakh from a builder by blackmailing him. The other four channel reporters are running away. They allegedly threatened to release videos that would defame the company and mislead customers.
The complainant, Sri Sivapuram Surendra Kumar, chairman of SSL Infra, submitted that the accused has demanded Rs 40 lakh for deletion of already uploaded videos and preventing further damaging content from being published.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime and disclosed that he was accompanied by Venkatesh, Kiran, Mahender and Maajid.
21-Year-Old Engineering Student Dies After Being Hit by SUV
Hyderabad: Hemanth Gokam, a 21-year-old engineering student, died after being hit by an SUV near Kompally in Petbasheerabad on Thursday evening. Petbasheerabad ASI Maheshwar Reddy said Gokam was traveling on his two-wheeler from Bahadurpally towards Kompally around 7 pm when the SUV allegedly hit him from behind in the Forest Academy section. ASI said Gokam suffered a serious head injury and was taken to hospital for treatment, where he died around 11.30 am on Friday. A detailed investigation into the incident continues.
Two People Arrested for Carrying ₹4.05 Crore Cash Without Documents
Hyderabad: Bowenpally police on Friday arrested two people for carrying Rs 4.05 billion in cash without valid documents and seized the money. Police said they were carrying old 10 notes as part of the alleged hawala operation.
While police did not name the buyers, they identified those arrested as Prakash Motibhai Prajapati and Pragnesh Keerthibhai Prajapathi from Gujarat.
North district DCP S. Rashmi Perumal said that Nagole resident V. Vishwanath Chary, along with his friends Pradeep and Ravi, had filed a complaint stating that he, along with his friends Pradeep and Ravi, had given Rs 50 lakh in cash to Muhammad Subhan Pasha, where he was assured that Rs 60 lakh would be refunded through RTGS. When payment was not made through RTGS, he contacted the police.
While pursuing Pasha, the police arrested Prajapati along with an associate from Addakal police limits of Mahbubnagar district. The DCP reportedly admitted cheating in the case and also admitted to transporting Hawala money of 4.05 Crore from Nagpur to Bengaluru.
Four Arrested for Robbery; ₹34.66 Lakh Recovered
Hyderabad: Bhavaninagar police on Friday arrested four persons for alleged robbery and seized ₹34.66 lakh in cash from the accused identified as Syed Irfan, Mudassir Alahi, Mohd Zahid and Mohd Abdul Rahman, all from Talabkatta.
Police said the gang stole and sold mobile phones and two-wheelers.
On November 30, Muhammad Sultan of Razagalli filed a complaint saying that two men wearing masks barged into his house, assaulted him and stole Rs 40 lakh in cash. During the investigation, police identified the suspect by verifying security cameras. Police said that with the arrest of the gang, they also solved four other theft cases in Bhavaninagar limits.
