It comes after Dani’s dad Danny opened up about his time in rehab for drug addiction and said he “wouldn’t be here right now” if he hadn’t gone.

Danny has been open about his past drug problems and had previously attended a rehab center in South Africa.

Jamie Laing’s speech Good Company podcastDani explained how her father’s first mission didn’t work because of a deal he made with a binge eater.

‘He went to rehab twice, the first time he went he was trading diazepam for creamed eggs,’ he explained.

‘There was one woman there from overeating and hers from drug addiction, so this was never going to work.’

His second trip to rehab was 'more serious' and Dani said she believes her dad's previous job on EastEnders 'saved him'

His second trip to rehab was more ‘serious’ and Dani said she believes her father’s previous job playing Mick Carter in EastEnders ‘saved’ him.

‘The second time he went in I knew it was serious, we always said if he hadn’t gone to rehab he wouldn’t be here now because it was so bad, absolutely terrible,’ he said.

‘He always says EastEnders saved him. He was in such a dark place with himself, relying on drink and drugs, that he knew he had to pull himself together. It’s the best thing he’s ever done.

‘He was with the wrong people, meeting all his friends who weren’t supposed to be friends when he first came out, and the second time he cut off, say, 70% of his life.’
