Radhika Gupta calls Lower Parel ‘Slower Parel’ after Nilesh Shah suggests penalty on Mumbai’s bad roads

What did Radhika Gupta say?
Nilesh Bhai, if you want to feel better, I invite you to visit Slow Parel. It takes minimum 45 minutes to travel 2 km from Parel to Lower Parel. To compensate for the closure of the Elphinstone bridge, many roads were required to have one-way traffic and no parking. Unfortunately, this is not followed and implemented. Whether it’s illegal passing or unauthorized parking, road rules must be strictly enforced!

What did Nilesh Shah say?
“Record at a BKC intersection signal. Eight minutes for the Red Signal to turn Green. The traffic manager would happily allow traffic to cross and block the intersection. (Nobody listened to him anyway) There should be a penalty for blocking the intersection like in the Middle East. Do not proceed by blocking the intersection unless you have a clear crossing,” said Nilesh Shah.

“Nariman point is towards Eastern highway. If you leave Nariman point after 6 pm, it will literally take 45 minutes to an hour to cover 4 km,” said a user.
“Please take responsibility to make changes. You can do it. Move your offices out of BKC and Lower Parel and move them to the suburbs. This will ensure that your Lower Parel does not always remain Slow Parel. Find actionable points and act on them,” said another user.
