Muslim Youth’s Hanuman Devotion Inspires Unity

Karimnagar: A young Muslim man from Pudur village has become a symbol of communal harmony after successfully completing the grueling 11-day Hanuman deeksha.
Muhammad Yusuf, a resident of Kodimyal mandal, wore saffron robes and undertook tough spiritual discipline. Deeksha was in thanksgiving after a near-fatal accident near Kondagattu last year and believed she survived thanks to divine grace.
Attributing his survival to the blessings of Lord Rama and Hanuman, Joseph promised to perform the penance in gratitude. For 11 days, he adhered to the strict rules of the ‘mala’ user, including traveling barefoot and a restricted diet, demonstrating that the devotion transcended religious boundaries.
On Hanuman Chinna Jayanti, Yusuf walked towards the shrine on Kondagattu hill, where he prayed at the sanctum of Sri Anjaneya Swamy and formally fulfilled his vow. His presence was warmly welcomed by his fellow devotees, who hailed his action as a powerful message of unity.
Sharing his experiences, Yusuf said that religions may be different, but the essence of God is one. “All religions are equal and there should be no barriers to people praying or expressing gratitude to the divine,” he said.
His story has since gone viral and community elders and leaders have praised him for promoting social harmony. At a time when social boundaries were often sharply drawn, Joseph’s faith offered a new perspective on mutual respect and shared spiritual heritage.
