Woman delivers baby on running bus; newborn thrown out, dies

A 19 -year -old woman gave birth to a baby in a sleeping coach bus working in Maharashtra’s Parbhani, but a man who claims to be he and her husband had thrown out the newborn out of the window and caused the child’s death.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at around 06.30 on the Pathri-Selu Road, and after realizing that a warning citizen was thrown out of the bus with a wrapped cloth, it appeared.
“A woman described as Ritika Dherere was traveling from Pune to Pune with Altaf Shaikh, who claimed to be her husband. During her travels, she was born as a piece for a baby boy during her journey.
The driver of the sleeping bus with compartments with upper and lower quays realized that something was thrown out of a window. When he questioned this, Shaikh told him that his wife had vomited because he felt nausea because of his bus journey.
“In the meantime, when a warning citizen on the road checked those thrown out of the bus window, it was shocked to find out that it was a baby boy. He immediately called the 112 aid line and warned the police.”
Later, the local police team in the patrol seized the bus. The authority said that after examining the vehicle and conducting a preliminary investigation, they were detained in the woman and Shaikh.
The couple said that they had left newborns because they could not raise the child, and added that the baby died after being thrown out.
According to the police, Dhere and Shaikh both came from Parbhani and have been in Pune for the last one and a half years. The authority claimed to be husband and wife, but they could not produce any documents to support the claim.
“After taking them into custody, the police ran to a hospital for treatment,” he said.
Authorized, 94 (3), (5) of the BNS (5) (5) (5) (5) of the Pathri Police Station of the couple (a lawsuit was recorded (hiding the birth of the dead body).
Authority said that a notification was submitted to the defendants and that more investigations continued in the case.
