Sylvie Brosseau, Mr. Meunier’s widow, alleges “gaps in the hospital field” and considers that the entire system is “inadequate to take care of these patients.” She therefore intends to sue the CISSS des Laurentides for damages.
Son avocat, Me Patrick Martin-Ménard, hopes for an amicable solution so as not to “constrain Mme Brosseau to go through the trying stages of a contested legal case.”
Ariane Gauthier-Tremblay, community organizer in the defense of rights component at Mémo Québec, wishes to “echo the wishes of several members [de Mémo Québec] » and considers a class action against Santé Québec and the Ministry of Health.

The latter states that “several [membres de Mémo Québec] still have sores” that were caused by “deficiencies in the system”.
According to Me Martin-Ménard, this collective action would cover “all people who, like Mr. Meunier, were hospitalized without access to therapeutic surfaces or without the risk of pressure ulcers being assessed, taken into account, or treated, and who developed pressure ulcers”.
More details to come.
