Death Toll Rises to Two as Several Injured

Quota (Rajasthan): Authorities reported that the death toll in the collapsed building in Kota increased to two and at least 13 people were injured.

Kota District Commissioner Anil Kumar Agrawal stated that the incident occurred in an area where new construction was ongoing and the structure collapsed from top to bottom.

He told reporters, “Two deaths have been reported. We have information about 13 injured people. Our information is that some new constructions are ongoing and collapsed from top to bottom. It may be due to negligence regarding the quality of construction. Some residents of the area state that drilling works have been carried out and there are complaints about this. Detailed technical investigations will be carried out regarding the reasons and the results will be shared.”

Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker and Kota MP Om Birla expressed sadness over the incident in the Indravihar area of ​​the city. He said he was in constant touch with the district administration and directed officials, including the District Collector, to expedite relief and rescue operations.

Birla also directed the authorities to provide timely and appropriate medical treatment to the injured and expressed solidarity with the affected families and prayed for a speedy recovery.
